The first train travellers rode into town in 1901 aboard the rapidly expanding South Coast Railway. The town, however, remained nameless until a decade later when the retired Postmaster-General Maxwell-Hibberd purchased a farm here.
Adventure And Sport
Beaches: The golden beaches and surf of Hibberdene are strewn with bathers. Indoor Bowls: Competitions are held twice weekly in the local Town Hall. Miniature Golf: Also known as Putt-Putt, this course is a popular beachfront attraction.
