Klawer lies a three hours’ drive north of Cape Town on the banks of the Olifants River. The town was named after the wild clover growing in the area. From late July to September the area is covered with blooming wild flowers. Klawer is the central point from which places such as Lambert’s Bay, Strandfontein, Vredendal, Clanwilliam and Vanrhynsdorp are easily accessible.
