Komatipoort is situated close to the border post with neighbouring Mozambique at the confluence of the Crocodile and Komati Rivers – yet another early (1890) siding and supply base for the NZASM “Oosterlijn” Railway line to Mozambique. Today, the town with its lovely, tree-lined streets is still a major railway terminus serving both the main line from Maputo to Gauteng as well as the southern line to Swaziland. It is also an access point to the Kruger National Park via the nearby Crocodile River Bridge Gate.
