Nature Reserves: The area abounds with nature reserves, including Nkomba Bird Sanctuary, Nkumbane Dam, Elysium Wetland, Ifafa Lagoon Estuary and Mkamati Dam.
Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve: The Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve features the fine coastal forest and grasslands of the South Coast. Animals such as impala, blue wildebeest, zebra and eland roam the reserve.
